The Health Officier will report directly to the Academic Director of the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center.  This positions primary responsibilities include: first aid for minor injuries, ensuring health and safety of campers and staff, daily sick call, communicating specific camper health needs, medical record keeping and communicating with parents.

The IROEC is currently hiring for January 2, 2018 through mid June 2018


  • EMT or LVN certification

Primary responsibilities:

  • Skilled in patient assessment and safe utilization of medications.
  • Assesses and determines needs, development of care plan, treatments, medications, and determines appropriate resources and services required to meet health needs.
  • Responds to all emergency and first-aid calls 24 hours a day Monday through Friday
  • Operates within the scope of EMT or LVN certification
  • Function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains flexibility and organization in a work environment with multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Maintains patient privacy with medical conditions and documents.


  • Must be willing to live on site during school week (M-F).
  • Must enjoy working with kids
  • Desired skill: bi-lingual
  • Other duties as assigned.
