The Nurse will report directly to the Academic Director of the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center.  This positions primary responsibilities include: first aid for minor injuries, ensuring health and safety of campers and staff, daily sick call, communicating specific camper health needs, medical record keeping and communicating with parents.



  • Must be a registered nurse in the state of California.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Skilled in patient assessment and safe utilization of medications.
  • Assesses and determines needs, development of care plan, treatments, medications, and determines appropriate resources and services required to meet health needs.
  • Responds to all emergency and first-aid calls 24 hours a day Monday through Friday
  • Operates within the California RN scope of practice
  • Function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains flexibility and organization in a work environment with multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Maintains patient privacy with medical conditions and documents.



  • Must be willing to live on site during school week (M-F).
  • Must enjoy working with kids
  • Desired skill: bi-lingual
  • Other duties as assigned.
