Instructor (Part-time)
The part-time Instructor will be responsible directly to the Leadership and Youth Development Director, reporting through the Program Lead. This position is primarily responsible for providing a high quality program and great customer service in our recreational, academic, and leadership programs.
Primary responsibilities:
Arrive to shift on time, prepared to work, and stay through completion of tasks. Take assigned break times.
Complete job training in order to facilitate program in each area required. This includes pre-season training, on-the-fly training, and refresher training as dictated by OEC Leadership.
Follow a process to track maintenance and repairs needed on program equipment as directed by Area Leads.
Ensure that safety and protocol are followed in accordance to American Camp Association and Boy Scouts of America.
In communications:
Establish sound working relationships with staff to provide a high quality program and friendly customer service.  Familiar with BSA and Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Operations.
In relations with the staff:
Work closely with the Program Leads to support overall operations.
Understand and follow protocol for emergency situations at all OEC program areas.
Communicate requests for additional training opportunities (such as in-service) to Area Leads or Program Lead.
Maintain a climate that attracts and motivates a diverse staff of top qualified people.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
Experience in operations of camp program setting.
Desired: current experience or certifications in archery, aquatics, experiential education, climbing wall, challenge course, zip line, and/or shooting sports.
Customer oriented.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in an unstructured environment.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Desired: Bilingual

Salary begins at $11/hour; Part time Instructor will not be scheduled for more than 29 hours per week.
